Foster & Family Care Week 2023 runs from Monday, 31st July to Sunday, 6th August and is an annual week of celebration, recognising foster carers and the invaluable contribution they make to the lives of children, young people and families in our community.

Carers are amazing individuals who selflessly open their hearts and homes to children in need. Carers play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting children during difficult times, helping them heal, grow, and thrive.

The dedication, compassion, and resilience carers possess is truly admirable. Their impact extends far beyond the immediate care they provide, shaping the lives of children and leaves a long-lasting positive impression. We owe a debt of gratitude to carersl for the extraordinary contributions they make to the children in their care and to our society.

As such, FCAWA invites members of our Association to attend our Carer’s Week Brunch, an event specially designed to acknowledge and pay tribute to the amazing work carers do.

9:30am to 12:30pm

Our Carer’s Week Brunch will include an Acknowledgement to Country from an outstanding young person who has recently transitioned to independence, and an address by Hon. Sabine Winton MLA, Minister for Child Protection; Women’s Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence; Community Services.

Carers will be able to network and mingle with other like-minded carers.  Entertainment will be provided by Perth’s crooning duo Carlos and Paul Basilio – two fabulous singing brothers influenced by artists such as, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé and many more. The two brothers have spent their whole lives performing a range of genres and love nothing more than performing their soulful style of crooning.
